There are many different denominations around the world today.
Each of these institutions have different standards by which they
measure their faith.
The information contained here represent a series of studies of
different religious beliefs within the scope of Christiandom. When
we began looking for material which clearly outlined the distinctions
between the various religious doctrines, surprisingly, none were
found. Although there are many books and useful documents on the
Internet that provided information on various creeds, nothing really
comprehensive existed. Such is the purpose of this work.
It is hoped that in these pages, both teachers and students alike
will find reference material that will suffice in conducting any
similar investigation anywhere and at anytime. Because some doctrines
change with the times, not all this information will be accurate.
This is prevalent in doctrines that are not of Christ but of men.
It should be understood that this undertaking has not been prompted
by any ill-conceived motives other than a strong desire to see "truth"
triumph over error, and to see God's name glorified among men who
love the truth. There is no desire here for any personal triumph
in truth, but victory for God and His word. He is convinced that
opposition to the traditions of men should not be an occasion for
one's vain display of personal talents, mental capacities, nor of
his proficiency in logic or the ability to manipulate various passages
of scripture.
The truth of Christ requires no defense. Thus we do not assail
the position of another merely to defend our own. This is not necessary.
The more frequently truth clashes with error, the brighter it will
shine. The closer the two are brought side-by-side, the more apparent
the differences and the more brilliant the light of truth.
No serious Christian can maintain a neutral or passive attitude
toward false ways. Through knowing God's word he must conclude with
David that he "hates every false way". He must oppose
error as fervently as he embraces truth.
Since the traditional errors originated from men and are aggressively
advocated by them and their followers, they will not die a natural
death nor can we ignore them and simply expect them to "get
it" and change. Error ceaselessly seeks to surrepticiously
corrupt and neutralize the truth, and to destroy all whom it enmeshes
in its tentacles. This is the core of Satanism and indicative of
those who practice only what they choose to accept as an otherwise
clear understanding of God's word.
The great and final reason for opposing error with truth is to
deliver precious souls from its curses and to save them from bondage
to freedom, from darkness to God's eternal light.
We have freely and openly used quotations from the many writers
for whom these works have been obtained and are greatful for their
contributions. This was done deliberately so that principle authorities
or spokesmen from various denominations are allowed to "speak
for themselves". No room therefore is left for doubting what
they believe and teach and further removes any questions of motives
to what is published.
Our aim is to speak the truth in love and naturally it comes as
a two-edged sword of the spirit. There will be many who will be
pierced, many to anger but this is necessary for the untrue doctrines
of men to be revealed. It is not our intent to discredit any one
person but rather the doctrines they teach.
For each denomination listed, there is a brief historical overview
and a comparison of their belief system as compared with the scriptures.
It should be within the discernment of a conscientious person that
the beliefs and practices found in denominationalism takes lightly
the word of God. If a person is serious about salvation and doing
what God requires, then they would depart from those ways regardless
of what friends or family might think. It doesn't matter whether
you agree, what matters is whether you truthfully believe what is
contained in the scriptures. Elsewhere in this site we identify
the church of the New Testament
and what it should look like and how to find it within the scriptures.
Below are links for each of the different denominational religions
that information has been found regarding doctrine and practices.
These are not comprehensive to every conceivable practice but should
be sufficient to point out serious difference between their beliefs
and scripture. If any of the information is found to be materially
incorrect, please notify us so we may make corrections.
